Hackers target CNN website

CNN's website has been targeted by hackers resulting in slow or unavailable pages across much of Asia, the news group has said. In a statement CNN said it was unaware who had hit the site with DoS or Denial-of-Service attacks. "CNN took preventative measures to filter traffic in response to attempts to disrupt our Web site. A small percentage of CNN.com users in Asia are impacted. We do not know who is responsible, nor can we confirm where it came from," the statement said. Problems began around midday on Thursday, but on Friday morning service appeared to have returned to normal. The attempt to disrupt the news website came as tech-oriented Web sites in Asia were reporting calls from hacker groups in China for Denial-of-Service attacks to be launched against the CNN Web site on Saturday over the network's coverage of unrest in Tibet. Angry Chinese bloggers have accused CNN and several other Western news organizations of being unfair in covering recent pro-independence protests in Tibet, which is controlled by China [CNN]. Chinese students are expected in Paris, London and Manchester later on Saturday to protest their anger over media reports.
Meanwhile a Chinese boat that was set to deliver arms to Zimbabwe, is on the move and heading from South African waters. The BBC reported it may have been heading for Mozambique after failing to unload its cargo in South Africa. Dock workers at Durban port had refused to touch the cargo for fear the weapons might be used against the civilian population within Zimbabwe in light of the volatile situation [BBC]

CNN said'CNN's reputation is based on reporting global news accurately and impartially, while our coverage through the use of words, images or video always reflects a wide range of opinions and points of view on every story'.If so, why so many Chinese from all over the world accuse of its unfair report? Secondly, while it reported the riot happend in Tibet, it used the cutted pictures, from which people would get wrong messages. Would it be called accurately and impartially??? Thirdly, its commentor Caffety calls Chinese people are goons and thugs and the products manufactured in China are junks. Chinese people work very hard to produce the goods, that's the main reason why the USA people can buy cheap goods. He did not think the Chinese people, but abuse them.
'accurate, impartial, reflects the wide range of opinions and points of view', I do doubt this.

CNN's reputation of accuracy and impartiality will have to be rebuilt, at least, in the minds of most of Chinese viewers.

CNN and Jack Cafferty impress me as shameful racial discriminist and Nazi extremist. What's Cafferty's educational background?

About France, I still remember that during the second world war (first?) the so-called strong nation give in itself to German even without a single battle! The shameful losers and cowards. Except for useless costume and perfume they can do nothing useful to the human being. Look at the young men in their country! Lazy and corrupted, only would like to be a begger or a tramp.

CNN claims to be RESPONSIBLE AND IMPARTIAL in their reporting.

RESPONSIBLE means you are accountable for your behaviour.

Has CNN accounted for their behaviour when they refers to CHINESE AS GOONS AND THUGS WITHOUT ANY RESERVATION?

THE ANSWER IS NO.

THIS IS AN EXTREMIST REMARK AND ITS INTENT IS TO STIR UP HATRED FOR THE CHINESE, YOU BET!

How about IMPARTIAL, which CNN proudly proclaimed?

EVERYONE KNOWS THE ANSWER TO THAT, DON'T WE?

FREEDOM OF SPEECH DO NOT GIVE A PERSON OR AN ORGANISATION LIKE CNN, THE RIGHT TO DISPENSE RACIAL HATRED THROUGH IRESSPONSIBLE, HIGHLY PARTIAL AND EXTREMELY BIASED AND LOP-SIDED ACT OR REPORTING.

LET'S NOT PRETEND THAT THIS IS AN UNINTENTIONAL ACT!

ON THE CONTRARY, THIS IS AN INTENTIONAL ACT TO SMEARS CHINESE ALL OVER THE WORLD AND TO STIR OTHERS TO HATE CHINESE WHEREEVER THEY ARE.

CNN IS NO ANGEL. IT IS AN ARCH ANGEL AND IT DISPENSE RACIAL HATRED FREELY!

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response sometimes seen in an abducted hostage, in which the hostage shows signs of loyalty to the hostage-taker, regardless of the danger (or at least risk) in which the hostage has been placed. Stockholm syndrome is also sometimes discussed in reference to other situations with similar tensions, such as battered person syndrome, rape cases, child abuse cases and bride kidnapping. The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28 in 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their victimizers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. The term Stockholm Syndrome was coined by the criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, who assisted the police during the robbery, and referred to the syndrome in a news broadcast.
