Myanmar - Cyclone Nargis kills hundreds

More than 350 have been killed after cyclone Nargis swept through Myanmar. “We believe hundreds of people are dead," said Khin Maung Win on the Democratic Voice of Burma, a broadcast media group run by opposition expatriates. "The entire lower Burma is affected. In some areas, entire villages disappeared." Winds in excess of 200 km/h hit the country over the weekend tearing off roofs, uprooting trees and downing power lines [CNN / BBC / Al Jazeera].
More tornadoes have also swept through the US with Arkansas being the worst hit. At least 7 have died in the latest storms to hit parts of the continent [CNN].
